Trust. That one word has a myriad of emotions mixed within it. Immediately you associate people that you view as trustworthy, but how do you get there? Trust isn’t something
If you're building skepticism instead of trust, you're laying the groundwork for poor performance and scalability.
Trust. That one word has a myriad of emotions mixed within it. Immediately you associate people that you view as trustworthy, but how do you get there? Trust isn’t something that is built without considerable effort, or is it? Trust can be as simple as skepticism, in the realm of human behavior. Either trust or skepticism, are based on a series of internal check marks. Internal layers and processes that cause each of us to check off the appropriate column. What if we told you that your process at your auto repair facility, either builds trust or it builds skepticism?
It’s true. How we treat our customers and the process we subject them to, is what builds trust or skepticism within our consumer base. When you build trust, your base expands… when you breed skepticism, your base retracts. If any of you have worked hard at building a customer base, you know that the weakest link in your process… is a team member within your organization. That team member, is the front line, when you aren’t the front line. Other than micromanaging, which is the most fruitless business exercise, how do you control their process so that they are building trust and not skepticism?
Most auto repair facilities aren’t building trust, they are building skepticism. Why? Because their process, that their auto repair software has enabled, revolves around sales and keeping the customer shrouded in mystery and confusion. This is then amplified by the commission model, where techs are paid on the amount of items they can state the vehicle needs. Which in turn leads to services being recommended that were not needed and in some rare instances, not even performed.
This isn’t how you would want to be treated when you are the customer, so why is it ok to treat your customers that way? You can say the process of your auto repair software doesn’t enable you to do anything else… and you would be right. Now we want to introduce you CAR. The only auto repair software system that is designed by default to build trust through transparency and expand your relationships with your team members and your customers.
